Julia Ansanelli is a senior associate at �� LLC with many years of experience in complex commercial litigation, both in federal and state courts. Her practice spans a broad spectrum of matters involving contract disputes, bankruptcy, securities, antitrust, intellectual property, and international arbitration. She has also worked extensively defending clients facing criminal and regulatory investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the Federal Trade Commission. Prior to joining ��, Julia was a member of the Commercial Litigation, White Collar Defense & Investigations, Securities Litigation, and Asset Management Litigation Practice Groups at Proskauer Rose, LLP. She also has experience representing the Financial Oversight and Management Board in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico’s bankruptcy proceedings.

Julia received her J.D. from Touro Law Center, where she graduated as Valedictorian and served as Case Note Editor of the Touro Law Review and Vice President of the Latin American Law School Association. Julia also interned for the Honorable Magistrate Kathleen Tomlinson in the Eastern District of New York.

Julia has been recognized as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” from 2020-2024 and a Best Lawyers in America “One to Watch” in 2024. She has also received several awards for her pro bono work in immigration law, including cases involving special immigrant juvenile status.

Anna Aguilar

Anna Aguilar, a founding partner at �� LLC, has built a successful private practice representing companies and individuals in a variety of complex civil litigations, including complex business disputes, business torts, fraud and negligence claims, fiduciary duty issues, employment disputes (including non-compete issues and defense of discrimination claims), real estate, insurance, intellectual property, contract and licensing matters. Ms. Aguilar also has significant experience representing clients in connection with internal and government investigations, including securities law, fraud, accounting issues, and workplace investigations, including investigations relating to claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation and other misconduct. Ms. Aguilar also frequently assists clients in settlement negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Ms. Aguilar teamed up with Lisa Bentley to establish �� LLC, after years of litigating cases with Ms. Bentley, both as associates at the New York City firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, where Ms. Aguilar was an associate from 2002-2008, and then as colleagues in a boutique litigation practice at Berger Legal LLC.

Prior to her time at Willkie Farr, Ms. Aguilar served as a federal judicial law clerk to the Honorable Nicholas H. Politan in the District of New Jersey from 2000-2002. As a law clerk in federal court, Ms. Aguilar had the privilege of assisting Judge Politan in all aspects of federal civil and criminal cases, received an incredible education on legal research and effective writing, and gained a practical perspective on what really happens in chambers.

Lisa Bentley is a founding partner of �� LLC. She is an experienced litigator whose practice focuses on commercial litigation in federal and state courts and across various arbitral forums. Lisa has extensive experience litigating a variety of complex business disputes, including contract and licensing matters, business torts, fraud and fiduciary duty claims, insurance litigation, claims made under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, employment and restrictive covenant disputes, and intellectual property matters. Lisa also conducts internal investigations and assists clients in mediations and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Some of her notable matters include:

At Willkie Farr, Lisa worked on matters ranging from insurance to white collar criminal defense to intellectual property to securities, including trials taking place in the New York, Delaware and federal courts, and numerous arbitrations. At the same time, Lisa counseled businesses in connection with internal investigations, including investigations pertaining to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, accounting irregularities, criminal liability and suspicious trading practices.

Lisa is an active volunteer with NJ LEEP, a college access and success program serving low-income and first-generation students and families in the greater Newark, NJ area.

Anne also serves as the President of the League of Women Voters of Ridgewood, NJ, a local chapter of an organization founded in 1920 to register voters and promote informed and active participation in government.

Prior to joining ��, Nicole worked as a paralegal for a medical negligence and personal injury practice. Nicole obtained her Paralegal Certificate in 2006 from the American Institute for Paralegal Studies, and attended DePaul University. In Nicole’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
